Tawakkul, The tie your camel Hadith ?

Now somewhere out there, they actually sell this frame!
Trust in Allah, but tie your camel. quote

Anas (radi Allahu anhu) reported that a person asked Rasul Allah (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam), “Should I tie my camel and have Tawakkul (trust in Allah for her protection) or should I leave her untied and have Tawakkul.” Rasul Allah (Sall Allahu Alaihi Wa Sallam) replied, “Tie her and have Tawakkul.” (Hasan) [Jami At-Tirmidhi]

Knowing it is one thing, practicing it on a daily basis is another one altogether... the question is what holds me back ?

I would like to believe I have complete tawakkul in Allah in all matters ...... but as much as I am able to practice it with bigger trials of life, my relationship with my sister, my husband losing his job, finding a job, trying to find home where we are now, but seem to lack it when I don't see the results of what I am trying to teach my kids........ Isn't tawakkul required there too ?

This is where I think I need to concentrate on the second part of the Hadith.....

How can I do it :

  1. Check my self how diligently am I praying for pious children
  2. Step back and see what I am doing wrong... (even though I think it's my kids not me!)
  3. Hold back my frustration
Question...

Why am I frustrated.....

I don't think I am achieving what I've been trying to achieve.........in disciplining my kids and bringing them up with taqwa in all their actions

I feel I am not an embodiment of the sunnah or the Prophetic way of teaching or dealing with children.. yes I love my children and am thankful to Allah for their health and so much more... but I don't think I show my kids of how thankful I am to Allah for them... What a pity ! Astaghfirullah

Steps that I want to take to improve in this area:

Listen to : Sheikh Ala's talk on rights of children and rights of parents from his family series pack

(which I may point out.....finding the CD was a Dua Allah heard and I just found it in the last house I had moved in....... YET I still haven't watched it hoping to do it wioth my husband)

I guess it's HIGH TIME to stop waiting and atleast watch it myslef!

Read : Nabi Kareem Sallallaho alaihi wasallam as a Muallim by Professor Dr Fadl Ilahi in Urdu

I give myself 2 months to do all of the above....... I will update you as I accomplish them BEIDHNILLAH

How is this related with the title of this post ?

I feel I have been lacking in steps to achieve the tawakkul I need in raising my children in Allah's way........

First I need to equip myself and USE the proper tools, and THEN have complete tawakkul on Allah for my and children's path of becoming MUTTAQI......

Please share your thoughts and advice from Quran , Sunnah and personal experience....

Rabbi Zidni Ilma

Oh Allah increase me in knowledge....

Dua a simple act that we perform unconsciously many times in the name of wishing for things. How unfortunate that we don't always direct our wishes towards Allah.......the only way to make it come true !

Subhanallah........for the longest time i have felt dissatisfaction and lack of depth in my duas. Not being able to figure out what is it hat I am missing, Alhumdolillah by the Grace and Mercy of Allah I and some of my friends have joined Muhammad Al Shareef's Visionaire online course. It is not a Fiqh of dua course but a self development course.

We all need to renew our relationship with Allah as Shaitan, dunya, responsibilities and distracions constantly attack our heart, making it rusty.

Time for WD40 for the heart, Muhammad Al Shareef Style............

So this here is going to be my personal diary of what I learn, what I discover, what I plan, how I change, how I improve my relation ship with Allah... BEIDHNILLAH

Do share your thoughts, view point sand comments.

Hoping to share and learn and gain even more from your responses and being not only pro active but diligent and sincere in my duas. Ameen

Praying that you all benefit from this experience.... Ameen.

Let's be the change and take our duas to another level..... Inshallah !
